Ringing in 2009

Hello again dears, happy Winter Solstice 2008 ~
As is my custom at the end of each year, I’m taking note of the significant events, challenges & paths I’ve traveled during 2008, and preparing for the New Year. What a splendid journey: the Advanced Healing Practicum class & light filled students, the healing compositions that came forth while sitting at the First Spiritualist synthesizer (thanks to the inspiration of countless angels, Gershwin, Joni Mitchell & that grand showman Liberace!), the Marfa lights, swimming in the Atlantic & Deep Eddy, backyard fires at Ave G, King Bee (cat), writing plays & grants, hot Tex Mex, good health, & all the remarkable messages/readings & energy healings that manifested are just a few of the glorious things I’m grateful for. Hope you’re counting your many blessings as well.
I look forward to connecting with you all in some form during 2009. Here are a few things that are coming up, spiritual and otherwise:

Italian Renaissance sculpture crashes to floor in NY Met

Jul 2, 2008, 16:11 GMT

New York - An Italian 15th-century half-moon sculpture of the Archangel Michael crashed to the floor of New York's Metropolitan Museum, but officials said it can be repaired, media reports said Wednesday.

The glazed blue-and-white terracotta relief sculpture by Andrea della Robbia (1435-1525) 'came loose from metal mounts' and fell to a stone floor sometime early Tuesday morning, the museum said in a statement on its website.

'Preliminary inspection indicates that the relief has not been irrevocably harmed and that it can be repaired and again presented to the public,' the museum said.

The 157-by-89-centimetre framed lunette had been mounted at its current location since 1996, above a doorway in the Met's European sculpture and decorative arts gallery.

The sculpture, showing St Michael dressed in armor and holding a sword and the scales of justice, was commissioned about 1475 for the church of San Michele Arcangelo in Faenza, a small town between Bologna and Ravenna.

When the church was dismantled around 1798, the sculpture was bought by private collectors. The museum acquired it in 1960.

The Met, which said it routinely inspects its pedestals and wall mounts, would investigate the cause of the accident and also initiate a 'reinvigorated museum-wide examination' of all of its mountings.

July Mix & Hope Affirmation

Hey Fellow Travelers~

Dang, it's still hot. Yes, yes, it IS Texas. My first taste of summer here 3 years ago (we're talking September) had me believing I was breathing in the fires of hell. Then I learn that five o'clock is the hottest time of the day! See, on the East Coast, the sun is slanting far west, long shadows begin to appear around 6pm. Long, hot days.

Recently I came across a lovely and strengthening prayer/ poem relayed by Eon, and I'd like to share. Great to say in these uncertain times, yeah, that ray o' hope.

I come from the Infinite, where Hope is born.
I am filled with the Infinite, and I am a vessel for Hope.
I turn now to the Infinite, Divine and Blessed Truth that is my being.

In heat & light,

Heat + Healing

Hello Fellow Travellers~

Carumba it's hot in Texas. 11+ days of extraordinary heat...99, 102 degrees. I've been dipping into Deep Eddy and Shipe pool down the street, and, most importantly, getting into the 68 degree water of Barton Springs...along with the rest of Austin. Only time it's quiet is underwater, with the din of the mobs. But there's a sense of a jovial, grateful community, and to have such beautiful water resources around is truly a blessing.

Seems like I've been running into a lot of folks with cancers in beginning and advanced stages, rare nasal cancer, testicular, you name it. As a healer, it's always interesting to face these illnesses in the body. As I visualize and consciously journey into client's physical system, illness reveals itself as dark blocks, dark red swirling material, or maybe a strange being of some kind. Yes, it's wild, but as we healers gain experience and always, always call in the Divine Light and ground ourselves into the magnetic core of the earth, we prevail. And, then, let go and know it's all in the Hands of the Divine.

Jacque + I will be healing at First Spiritualist Church this Saturday...the 3rd Saturday of the Month thing...
so if you catch this on time, stop on by! See the sidebar left for the details.

In Love, light and heat

China’s May 12th Earthquake – Nature’s Omens

Hello Fellow Travellers,

It appears that many signs were given in advance of the powerful earthquake that devastated China's Sichuan provinces. While some journalists classify bloggers observations as mere “rumors of earthquake omens”, it is both fascinating and significant that highly unusual activities took place weeks and/or days before the quake. Here are few of the omens:

April 26, 2008: The Chutian Metropolis Daily reported that on April 26, 80,000 tons of water suddenly drained from a large pond in Enshi, Hubei province. The province shares a border with Chongqing Municipality, which was devastated by the earthquake on Monday.

May 10, 2008: The West China Metropolis Daily, reported that hundreds of migrating toads descended upon the streets of Mianyang, the second largest city in the province which neighbors Wenchuan County, the epicentre of the earthquake.

In the city of Mianzhu, 60 miles from the epicentre, bloggers pointed to reports just weeks before the earthquake of a mass migration of more than one million butterflies.

In eastern China: a farmer went to his local earthquake forecast centre several times to report that his animals had been disturbed and restless. But, he blogged: "They not only ridiculed me, they accused me of making up stories."

At this point in time, omens of nature are relegated to categories of innuendo, superstition, and rumor. And, the above info may fall into that category…I couldn’t say for sure. But I do know that nature does have a warning system, and have witnessed it myself. What many are afraid of is: witchery, pure and simple.

First Saturday Readings and the Hathors

hey fellow travellers,

i'll be doing intuitive readings tomorrow (May 3, 2008) at the First Spiritualist Church from 10:30 to 2. see the left sidebar for specifics.

if you're interested in what's happening to the earth core, the magnetic energy field, and how we're consequently effected, please go to the following link and read: http://tomkenyon.com/earths-magnetic-field/

i've been doing a version of the meditation for the past several years, which primarily evolved from my own experiences. some of you are familiar with it, it's the As Above So Below Mediation. here, the hathors suggest visualizing and grounding to the earth's core, and up to the milky way. what a great journey! i found it stablizing and clarifying. tom kenyon also offers some valuable advice:

Information and knowledge can empower us, but only if we act on it and don't get overwhelmed or paralyzed by the immensity of that we face.

when i get overwhelmed, i resort to playing mah jong while i'm piecing things together.

love and light eternal!

Eon's Cleansing Bath for the weary

Hello fellow travellers,

As we move thru our respective worlds, we meet with a range of energies that enhance and deplete our own energy field. If you're working with the public in any capacity, you may note feeling drained or off-center on occasion. Over the years, I've garnered a number of methods that can protect and remove the negative energies that can cling to one. Here's one of my favorites, which never fails to relax and rejunvenate my body and soul.

The words that follow are Eon's. For more info on Eon, see the Ennave link below. Be sure to mind the 10 minute limit. Happy soaking!

Cleansing Bath

Source: Eon, from the “Surrendering to Surrender” workshop as transchanneled by Paul Throne, 1993, Amherst, MA

Dear Ones,

Chose a quiet time that you can devote to yourself. The purpose of this bath is to slough off and drain away negative and unnecessary energies clinging to your aura. Benefits include refreshed and renewed energy, expanded and strengthened aura…not to mention a cleaner tub.

Clean out and rinse your bathtub, taking care to prepare for a sacred moment. Since you need to be aware of a period of time, arrange for a clock to be within eyesight.

Fill the tub with hot water and add:

1 cup of apple cider vinegar

1 cup of sea salt

Soak in the tub for a period of 10 minutes. Be relaxed but aware of the time, for the energies you’re ridding yourself may seep back if you over extend your soak.

Rinse yourself off and, as the tub drains, imagine the unneeded energies disbursing and being absorbed into the earth.

Marty Cain's visit~

hello fellow travelers~

marty cain's visit and talk april 6th went beautifully! we dowsed first spiritualist church for detrimental energy lines and came up with a major line running thru the church, with a power line of 9, on a scale from 1 to 10. detrimental energy lines can be moved by calling in the divine spirit and making a request that it change to neutral or beneficial. marty has been clearing these lines for over 20 years. using the dowsing rods as a communication with the earth spirit, we learned the line was willing to shift to beneficial within a ten hour period, and all the 'critters' riding the line will now be rerouted elsewhere, allowing for clear and beatific energy to emanate and radiate thru the church. that's part of the power we have as a natural gift. we'll see the results shortly. i'll keep you posted.
